Cadeau was hurt that I didn’t put up a photo of him last month. But I still use a camera with film, and he’s so new to us that all His photos were still in the camera. So this month I’m posting Two photos of him, hoping that this will make up for the slight.

KC loves to cuddle with Skitter. The trouble is he’s so big that poor Skitter tends to get squished.

Okay, so Peeping Tom Turkey isn't a furry companion. But he does come around from time to time, and we do enjoy his company.

Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, Freckles is our little athlete. He just loves jumping to door tops and draping himself over them, sometimes batting our hair as we walk through the doorways.

Cadeau is our newest addition. He came to us after Merlin, another black cat, died, and we are convinced that he is Merlin’s gift to us. That’s why we named him Cadeau, which is French for gift.

KC is our elegant kitty. He’s very shy and so must be wooed. But he lives for belly rubs. He’s kind and gentle, but he’ll pounce on anyone sleeping under the covers with me.

Skitter is everybody’s lover. When KC and Freckles came to us, Skitter, who is male, allowed them to nurse on him. He bathed them and encouraged them and mothered them until they had found their own way. He’s the one who is on my lap whenever I sit down. And if I’m on the phone Skitter always has something to say.

Mimi is my bedroom buddy and my familiar. Each night she lies on my chest, her nose pressed to mine, until I have to roll over and go to sleep. Then she sleeps curled into my body. I don’t so much sleep with her as wear her through the night.

Though very spiritual, Puck doesn’t get on with the other cats. He would really prefer to be an only cat, which makes life difficult for him. He requires lots of extra special attention, since he won’t cuddle with the others and really wants me all to himself.
