Dark Moon Ritual to banish all obstacles in you way of accomplishing your goal

Needs: Black altar cloth, black candle, matches, candlestick, censor, rosemary or lavender, Shawna Carol's CD (Goddess Chant), CD player, broom

Cleanse space by sweeping.
Place the black candle in the center of the altar and the censer in front of it.
Cleanse auras with the broom
Light black candle
Light charcoal and allow to heat

Close the circle:

Elle, Mythic woman who represents Age, you who wrestled with the thunder god Thor and won, we invite you into our circle this night. Come, powerful woman, for we need your strength tonight to fight all who block me from attaining [name your goal] - and to win.

Pele, fiery volcano grandmother, you who still appear to tourists who visit the Hawaiian volcanoes, we invite you into our circle this night. Come, fiery Lady, for we need to wash away the obstacles in my path with your life-changing lava.

Muireartach, Irish Crone of the sea, you who delight in the stormy waves, we invite you into our circle this night to flood my path and wash all obstacles away into the sea where they can be cleansed.

Spear Finger, great Cherokee Goddess of earth, you who can lift the heaviest boulders just by touching them, we invite you into our circle tonight. Come powerful Grandmother, for we need you to lift the boulders that are blocking me from accomplishing my goal of [name your goal].

Hecate, great goddess of the dark moon, you who rule the spirits of the dead, and you who welcome the dead into your womb, we invite you into our circle this night. Come, ancient Lady. We would have you take into yourself all the obstacles that we are about to clean up. Cleanse them, Grandmother, and turn them into welcoming flowers strewn along my path.

We are here to clear my path of obstacles so I can accomplish my goal of [name your goal] easily and quickly. At this, the beginning of a new month, we cast to create a clear path to the accomplishment of my goal of [name your goal].

Charge of the Crone

Hear ye the words of the Dark Goddess who stands within the crossroads, whose torch illuminates the Unknown.

I am the Queen of Transformation and the Dark of the Moon, hidden in the deepest night. I am the mystery of the Otherworld and the wisdom that coils about your heart in the time of your trials. I am the soul of nature that gives form to the universe. It is I who await you at the end of the Spiral Dance. I am the most ancient of Goddesses.

Let my worship be within the heart that has truly tasted life, for behold all acts of craft and art are my pleasure and my greatest ritual is love. Therefore, let there be beauty in your strength. Compassion in your wrath, power in your tolerance, and discipline balanced through mirth and reverence. You who seek to see me and seek to behold my true face shall know that all your searching and yearning will one day come to an end. For the mystery shall be unveiled. Look no further than within yourself to look into my eyes.

Behold! I have been with you from the very beginning. It was I who breathed your soul into your body. Mine were the hands that drew you from the womb, mine the comforting voice that advised you throughout life, and mine the loving embrace that awaits you at the end of each life. For I am that which is attained at the end of the dance, and I am the womb of new beginnings. At the end of the Spiral you shall cease to imagine and come to know.

Place some lavender on the charcoal.
Lavender cleanses all obstacles away. My goal of [name your goal] is accomplished by night and by day.

Play Mother's Gift on Shawna Carol's CD (track 4). As you do, sweep the circle, symbolizing sweeping all obstacles from your path. If you want play it again and simply listen.

Journey and watch as Elle wrestles with all those who would block the accomplishment of your goal. Watch her take them down one by one until all those who would block you are defeated. See your opponents as animals, though, not people with names and faces. You don't want to harm anyone. All you want is for them to stop fighting you. See Pele's power clearing your path with volcanic lava and thus creating new, flat and clear land on which to walk. See the tsunami that Muireartach creates. See it cool the lava to hard, flat land easy to walk upon. Watch as Spear Finger lifts away any remaining boulders, rocks, or even pebbles. She simply looks at them and they toss themselves into the sea! See Hecate take the remains of the obstacles and change them to welcoming flowers. Finally see your goal accomplished. All those who had fought you are now hugging you with joy. They're on your side now. They are very happy for you and they fill you with love. See everyone you know (and many you don't) greeting you with congratulations and love. Hug them all. They are there to support you. When you are ready come back and ground, sending all your excess energy into the earth for other women whose goals have been thwarted.

Open the circle.

Let the candle burn out on her own and once the charcoal is cool scatter the ashes to the four winds so that all paths to your goal are clear.
